Having been a stylist since 1973, and opening Skippack Stylekrafters in 1994, Karen has seen many transitions in her business. She started with a small 2 station salon at her first location, working by herself for the first year, to the present time having 10 wonderfully talented employees and a beautiful new location since 2009. She retired from her career as a stylist in 2015. She relinquished the everyday managerial aspect of the salon to her daughter Lindsey and her daughter-in-law Lauren, who are continuing to keep the warm, comfortable, but professional atmosphere that was created in 1994 alive.
In the last year, she has decided to step out of semi-retirement to pursue a new avenue of the salon industry that some of her clients have challenged her with over the years....thinning hair. She is now in the process of educating herself in all types of hair loss, wigs, hair pieces and hair integration systems. There is a great need for these types of services. She is excited and looking forward to being able to help women and men alike with their hair loss issues.
The salon is an ever-changing entity, which it should be, because the beauty business is constantly evolving!
